Venice, Italy

Venice was a fabulously beautiful city if you like old stone architecture and lots of churches. Of all the cities we visited I found it the most interesting to photograph. With so much history and culture it was a thouroughly fascinating place to vist.

St Marks Square (well just outside, shot from the top of St Marks Basilica)

Lots of old buildings and canals

Here begin the churches...

The oldest church in Venice built in the 1077

There was a beautiful sunrise at the decent time of 7.10am every morning

I managed to fit in some night photography on our last night there

The Venice Opera House
I couldnt decide whether it should be in Colour or Black & White,
Can you help me decide?

Kangaroos

Quite some time again we went to the Morisset Hospital which is known for its many Kangaroos that are very friendly. It was a fun, photographic afternoon.

Another 50 Paces Challenge

I would like to share a couple of images with you that I captured over the weekend. We have a lovely paddock behind our property where there are some horses and rabbits and various birds. I saw this tyre swing and have attempted to be creative in capturing it.

Salzburg, Austria

Salzburg is where The Sound of Music was filmed. This is where I really started to feel like I was in Europe. A really old fortress, massive mountains really close by and a river running through the middle of the city. Sadly though, we were only there for two days which means less pictures.

Vienna, Austria

For my first post for the year I thought I would catch up on my trip to Europe from last year now that I have gotten around to going through them.

In second semester of last year I was very lucky to go on the Avondale College Music Study tour. While I have been involved in music in some form or another for most of my life, I have never really studied it. I must say that while I had a fabulous time just being in Europe, it was also vey exciting to learn about the history of the music and composers that I have been involved with for so long.

We started our tour, after 34 hours in transit, in Vienna, Austria.
