Mountain Bikes

I know its been a long time since easter but below are some of the images that i have finally had the chance of photoshoping them.

Although it was really fun and exciting to be able to do some action photography, which is very different to the usual wedding photography, it was made very difficult in that i couldnt borrow my dads 30D because of course he was using it and Kent was using our 40D therefore i was left with the 10D. This meant 3 frames a second and very slow focusing. Hence my effort to hide the not so infocus riders by using all sorts of measure such as noise, black and white, and blur.

At least it was fun to photoshop them.

Yes girls can ride mountain bikes and not get hurt... its really not that shocking.

My Mothers Triumph

This is one of those moments when i was so proud of my mother. It was a feeling im sure she has had for me and my sister on many other occasions... i think... i hope anyway.

This is my mother at the top of Mount Kosciuszko. Now im sure many of you are think, thats not really an acheivement, its only australia and its really a strole not a climb. But the thing that you may not know is that my mother had badly strained her left calf muscle the previous afternoon and had extreme trouble walking. We were all under the impression that she would walk the 1 or 2 kilometres to the look out the go back to the chair lift until we all returned from the summit. After we had all had lunch and were starting our descent we found her still powering up the mountain about 400 metres from the top.

I was so amazed and so excited because it meant that we would all be at the top together. Especially after Kent only just breaking a fever the night before and walking up with us, it was a very special family moment for all of us.

Hill Wedding Part II

I remembered that the last post I had done was of my cousins wedding and have finally remembered that i still had some more pictures of theirs to put up so here they are.

Black & White

This is my first attempt at making an image black and white thats why i know its not really that good but i had a lot of trouble trying to make some colours darker without making other sections and colours darker at the same time. Ill get better i promise.

Layers upon Layers

Now I know that i didnt take this picture being that it is a picture of me but it was on my flash stick and i wanted to do some playing photoshop and i must say that i had lots of fun. And would you believe i ended up with more that 3 or so layers. There is a layer for the blur, black and white, colour show through, curves adjustment and a couple others that i have forgotten. Im really excited that i was able to do something a little differente and that i have taught myself a few things. Please let me know what your thoughts are. (about the photoshop not the picture iteself)

Hill Wedding Part 1

This is some of the pictures of the girls getting ready that i took. This was the first time that i was with the girls all by myself for most of the time so i had to try and be very creative. It was lots of fun for me considering that it was my cousing getting married so it was real special.

You may notice that once i learn something new that i seem to use it a lot. That is because i think its cool and its like having a new toy to use.

I learned something new in Photoshop

This is really exciting because i taught myself something new in photoshop whilst playing with the pictures i took at my cousins wedding at the beginning of thsi year.

For those interested, In this image i wanted to blur around the subject inorder to draw your attention to her face. (and away from my not so good composition) So what i did was i added a duplicate layer of the background and put a blur on that. then i used the history brush to show through the background layer on the area that i wanted clear. then there is a vignetter on top of that.

Ive probably dont it different to the usual or wrong or something but it did what i wanted to do and im really proud of myself so in the end i dont really care if tis wrong. I think shes beautiful.

Ash & Kates Wedding

So I have finally learned a few things in photoshop but it means that all my pictures will look fairly similar and possibly not very good. But anyway feel free to let me know what you think.

Again all the below pictures were taken by me and photoshoped by me so nothing belongs to kent (except that he taught me everything i know).

I learned something in photoshop!!

I decided to play around with a few things that my husband taught me last night with photoshop and this is a really esciting picture. We were at my cousins wedding in newzealand (which kent and i were the official photographers) and at the reception cameras got played with... especially when funny faces got pulled right in front of me. So for those interested all there is, is a little colour correction and a colour burn layer and a largish vignette. (i think i said all that right, im sure ill get corrected if not)

Mandi's Hens

As the festive topics continue, I have decided to put up some pictures of my cousins Hen's night. As you can probably see we were all instructed to wear white. As I havent been to a Hens night in while and especially being my cousins, this was a really special night for me.

The customary veil...

...with the maid of honour, Yvanna Phillips

Party games... this one involved a pretend bride and lots of toilet paper...

And now for the fashion show... Oh and just so you know Mandi chose the "bride" of the far right (her mother), with no bias of course

The girls all out to coffee... *whispers* the empty chair is mine

My Best Friends Wedding

As this is my first post you should all know that as yet i know less than my husbands little fingernail about photoshop, so currently everything is just somewhat colour corrected. Also all pictures posted here will be mins and not the masters (kents)

I thougth i would start with something recent and monymental. My best friend from high school got married just over a month ago after being with her now husband for longer than kent (my husband) and I. As we have been married over two years, this is why i call it monumental.

Chocolate Mudcake is awesome, especially when it has white and milk chocolate swirled together.

The lovely couple... (Nayden and Michelle)

This is Michelle with her maid of honour Lauren

And slightly more visible now...

In high school we were called twins... not sure why...
I know I didnt take this one but this is for you all to see what I look like.
